Reishi is used medicinally to strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and for its anti-cancer properties. Reishi is a white rot fungus. In the wild, it grows mainly on dead or dying trees (oak, maple, holly and willow) at the soil boundary.
Reishi is typically prepared as a tea by diluting it with water, similar to black tea. Reishi can be brewed into a tea similar to black tea by simmering dried or fresh mushrooms over low heat for 2 hours.
